Lauterie-Frusinate IGP-Syrah 2016

Marco’s dad Eleuterio deserved a wine too. This is the only international and is a Syrah from vines that are over 40 years old. Bunches are harvested end of October and are partially destalked. The fermentation and the malolactic take place in concrete tanks where the mass rests while doing an extensive maceration as well. The wine then is moved in used oak barrels (500L) for a minimum of 10 months before being bottled without filtration And this is Syrah... Vines were there and Marco decided that he had to bend to this grape like he sometimes does with his father. It is a reference point on the cellar work compared to the other unknown grapes and a wine that can age for sure. Ruby in color the wine has a nose of plums and cherries with some hints of chocolate. The mouth is full and with round soft tannins.
