Sagrantino, the grapes of the popes history says… If you want a traditional Sagrantino, Napolini is your wine, very much so. Old vines. From one of the very best vineyards. Made without technology shortcuts and or time constraints that lately some producers are doing. Even Montefalco like Barolo has traditionalist and modernist. If you are here you like tradition, handcraft, artisan making. This is what Sagrantino should be.

Harvest at the end of October when the pips of Sagrantino are not green, the mass is left macerating for over a month in open vats. Then will be moved in big casks (and some barriques as well) where malo-lactic and fining will take place. After 3 years the wine is finally bottled and starts a further fining of at least one year.

Garnet color this is a wine that has notes of black berries raspberries, currants and rose. The mouth is full yet vibrant. The tannin typical of Sangrantino wine are quite powerful but full and elegant without green notes.
